Laura Rhodes
Academic Advisor, Undergraduate and Graduate

Laura Rhodes joined the IST Department in March 2020. Prior to joining the George Mason community, Rhodes worked in various roles in higher education, including counseling and psychological services, academic success and advising, and disability services. Rhodes earned her MSW in clinical social work from Rutgers University in May 2016 and her BS in Psychology with a Minor in Photography in 2014 from Susquehanna University.

Lisa Sevilla
Academic Advisor, Undergraduate and Graduate

Lisa Sevilla has been working at George Mason since 2005, throughout various departments, both administratively and academically.  Sevilla earned her MEd in Curriculum and Instruction- Secondary Education for English, from George Mason, in December 2015, and her BA in English-Folklore, Mythology, and Literature, with a minor in African American Studies, additional foci in Religion, Anthropology, and Native American and Indigenous Studies, from George Mason, in 2009.

Sarah Alharshan
Academic Advisor, Undergraduate and Graduate

Sarah Alharshan joined the IST Advising team in Summer 2025. She previously worked as an Administrative Specialist in IST and is currently serving on the Staff Senate and teaching as an adjunct, with several years of teaching experience abroad. She earned her BS in Computer and Information Systems from King Faisal University and her MS in Management Information Systems from Bowie State University, and is now pursuing a second master’s in Applied Information Technology with a Cybersecurity concentration at George Mason University. She enjoys helping students feel confident and connected at George Mason. She’s bilingual (English and Arabic) and enjoys supporting international students.

Mary Rose McAndrews 
Academic Advisor, Undergraduate and Graduate

Mary Rose McAndrews (preferred name: Mary Rose) joined the IST Department as an Administrative Specialist in February 2024 and shifted to a role as an Academic Advisor in October 2025. She earned her BS in Psychology with a Minor in Italian in 2017 from Virginia Tech.

Meg Kline

Academic Advisor, Undergraduate and Graduate

Meg Kline (she/her) has enjoyed her time as both a student and an employee at George Mason University. Kline joined the IST Advising team in January 2026. Previously, Kline worked in George Mason’s International Admissions Office and earned her B.A. in Russian and Eurasian Studies from Mason in 2013. Kline's higher education background includes international exchange programs, STEM graduate programs, and recruitment. Advising students throughout their academic journey brings Kline excitement.

Latonya Wallace

Academic Advisor, Undergraduate and Graduate

Latonya Wallace joined the IST Advising Team in January 2026. Prior to working at George Mason University, Wallace worked as an Academic and Career Advisor at The Catholic University of America. Wallace earned her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland at College Park. Wallace enjoys assisting students in reaching their academic and career goals, and she always makes sure that each student she advises is confident with the career path that they choose to pursue.
