Advising

Students may schedule virtual academic advising appointments by using the IST Academic Advising Scheduling System.
Appointments are available as far as 15 days in advance.  If no dates/times populate after you select the appointment type, our current availability has already been scheduled. Please check frequently for cancellations and/or new availability to populate. Alternatively, you're welcome to email your questions for assistance.

Students will be contacted via their Mason email addresses prior to their appointment with instructions for joining the virtual meeting.

In-person advising is also available. Students interested in meeting in-person will need to schedule an appointment with a correlating advisor on a day the advisor is in their office, making a note in "Reason for Appointment" that they wish to attend the meeting in-person. If no note designating "in-person" is included, the appointment will be conducted virtually.

Virtual and in-person walk-in hours are available for current students who have quick questions that they would like to have clarified.

Walk-ins are not available for IT 293 assignments, newly admitted students, prospective students, or students interested in changing their major to BS INFT or declaring the IT Minor. These populations will need to schedule an appointment so we have ample time to prepare for your appointments as well as discuss your inquiries and various nuances of the major/minor and major change process.
